The weekend of March 20-22 nearly 20 Core Wellness staff and patients enjoyed a relaxing, wellness-inspired retreat at the luxurious Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA. The first event of its kind for the Core Wellness staffers, the weekend delivered an agenda focused on educating attendees on the benefits of an active, healthy lifestyle and ways to move wisely, eat consciously and enjoy a more mindful life.
Welcomed on Friday, March 20 at the Holistic Healing Center with an acupuncture session to de-stress after their journey, the evening continued with time at the spa, a gourmet dinner and a casino night. Participants met the following morning with a yoga sessionfollowed by a hiking expedition through Ohiopyle State Park with beautiful mountain, river, and waterfall views. The day also included three hours of spa services, several educational “Core Talks”, which led to wonderful wellness-inspired discussion throughout the day. Before participants left Sunday morning, they enjoyed an invigorating tai chi class and dished on their favorite aspects of the weekend, including the locally-grown, gourmet meals, the private butler service (who would even draw your bath!), and the one-on-one time with health experts who provided individualized advice on matters of physical therapy, nutrition, stress management and more.
“We couldn’t have been more thrilled with the outcome of our first Core Wellness retreat. It was enjoyable, relaxing, educational, and wellness-inspired. All things we were hoping to provide participants,” said Dr. E. “We are already planning next year’s event and are excited about the enthusiasm that came out of this weekend. This is definitely something we want to continue to make available to any interested patients hoping to learn more about new ways they can bring wellness into their own lives.”
