Core Wellness Radio talks running tips and eating for two

After a summer hiatus, Core Wellness Radio came back with new podcasts, new guests and new equipment, taking our online radio show to the next level. August shows included a lengthy discussion with Ray Pugsley, owner of Potomac River Running Stores, the DC area’s go-to for apparel and expertise in running. The show “Running for Newbies” provided listeners with tips for those anxious to lace up and hit the pavement but aren’t quite sure where to begin. Ray covered the importance of finding the right shoe for 1) your foot and 2) your running style, and PRR’s process for those not familiar with the store. He also hit on how a running buddy is relevant and how to dress for running in various weather conditions. Anyone hoping to start a running program should check out the podcast and PRR’s calendar of events for upcoming runs happening this fall.

The podcast also featured Core’s Jackie Lash Callaghan who talked eating essentials pre-conception and during the first trimester. With two babies of her own, Jackie had a lot of personal advice to share with listeners, including foods to consider and laying the groundwork for a healthy diet long before pregnancy. A 15 minute snapshot, this podcast is the first installment in a series of three shows about eating for two—before, during and after pregnancy.
